The 2010 Tyson American Cup, the United States most prestigious gymnastics invitational, was held in Massachusetts for the first time on Saturday, March 6 at the DCU Center. Rebecca Bross of Plano, Texas, and Maxim Devyatovsky of Russia won the women's and men's all-around titles, respectively. Alexandra Raisman of Needham, Mass., and Jonathan Horton of Houston both finished second, with the USA’s Chris Brooks of Houston claiming the men's bronze. |
| Priessman wins inaugural Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup
Lexie Priessman of Cincinnati, Ohio, won the all-around title at the inaugural Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup right here at the DCU Center in Worcester. Kassandra Lopez of Tucson, Ariz., and Diandra Milliner of Andover, Kansas, finished second and third, respectively, in the 36-gymnast field that boasted competitors from 17 states across the country. Proceeds from the event go to the Nastia Liukin Fund, a charitable fund within the National Gymnastics Foundation. |

Alexandra Raisman of Needham, MA, is the final U.S. woman to accept an invitation to compete in the 2010 Tyson American Cup. Raisman, who trains at Brestyan’s American Gymnastics, joins 2009 World all-around silver-medalist Rebecca Bross of Plano, Texas; 2010 Winter Cup Challenge all-around champion Chris Brooks of Houston; and 2008 Olympic horizontal bar silver-medalist, 2009 U.S. all-around champion and two-time Tyson American Cup champion Jonathan Horton of Houston, Texas, in representing the USA on March 6 at the DCU Center. |
